Sick of the Snow!

Well, lemme tell ya..... I was planning on leaving for work Thursday night after hubby got home when about midnight I looked outside and saw we already had an inch of snow on the ground and it was coming down fast and hard it was almost like a blizzard!! So I threw all my stuff in the car and high tailed it outta here. Good thing too cuz by the time I made it down to one of the main secondary roads, visibility was less than 5 feet, the snow was falling horizontally and you couldn't see where the road started or ended! I swear I had a death grip on the steering wheel the entire time cuz I was sliding all over the place and every couple of feet I could feel my tires trying desperately to grab some traction .... any traction .... on the road. I went 35 mph the entire way... took me close to an hour and a half to get to work. It just plain sucked. So much for the storm not starting til the wee hours of Friday morning.

Got home yesterday around lunch time (wooohooo! hubby had the driveway plowed while I was gone too!!), unloaded all my crap (I took enough stuff with me in case I got stuck there for a week! LOL), grabbed something to eat and crashed until I had to get up this morning to take Helena to the doc. I am so sick of winter. I guess we're supposed to get some more winter yuck tomorrow. Thankfully I don't have to go anywhere til work this weekend.

This winter isn't even over and I'm already thinking ahead to next winter season... they are tearing down the motel at work so I won't be able to stay over like I did this weekend when we have these nasty storms come through. Guess they better get used to the idea of me not coming in cuz this past Thursday night was a reminder of why I won't drive in the stuff.
