Then, on Saturday, came Phase II. I anticipated this phase being a huge adjustment. I mean, drinking half my body weight in water (ounces) and following a 500 calorie per day "diet" seems a little far fetched, but so far so good! There are enough food choices to make meals that leave me feeling content. However, the water is another story. I've been able to get close to what I am supposed to drink on most days, haven't had the "waterlogged" feeling, but the water is starting to taste rather boring. As much as I don't like the price for the flavored Stevia, I may wind up getting it just to give the water the extra umph!
Today, I really played with my food choices and was surprised at what I came up with and how delicious it tasted. For lunch, I had 100 grams of steak, sauteed in garlic, sea salt, pepper, one of the various Mrs. Dash bottles of seasoning (don't remember which one LOL) and a couple tablespoons of water. With the steak, I had steamed asparagus, with a little garlic, sea salt, pepper and lemon juice drizzled over it. It was very filling! For dinner, I had 100 grams of turkey cutlet, sauteed with celery and various approved seasonings. With that, I had a sliced half tomato sprinkled with a packet of Stevia (yup, I like my fresh tomatoes sweet) and a cup of sliced strawberries.
The average weight loss with this diet is 1 to 2 lbs per day per cycle (a cycle of Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III, lasts either 21 days or 40 days, depending on which you choose to follow), although they say you will hit a plateau somewhere in there before the weight loss starts up again. So far, I've lost 6 lbs! I look forward to getting back into that skinnier pair of jeans in my closet :)
